Book Trailer Video Project

Assignment

Create a book trailer video using Animoto. Work from your Storyboard to create your video. The video should include text, pictures, and sound. Later, you will post your video to Google Classroom, a site that will allow everyone to share videos with each other. Make sure your assignment meets the rubric guidelines outlined below.

Creating your Animoto Account

• Go to Animoto
• Click blue “Sign-up” button
• Complete all fields. Use your student Google Apps email address. Use your google password.
• Click Sign Up

Book Trailer Guidelines

• Use at least 6 images
• Use at least 6 brief text slides
• One slide must include title and author of book
• One slide must be an image of book cover
• Beginning – include one or two slides to grab readers’ attention
• Middle – include quotes from book, slides about the story’s action/highlights
• End – teasers/questions that leave reader wanting to read book/wondering what happens
• Include Works Cited (web sites/citations) for all sources

Selecting Images for Book Trailer

• Use Storyboard for image ideas
• Search Google Images – click on Images at Google
• Save images as pictures in Book Trailer folder on Google Drive
• Copy and Paste web sites for all images below in this document, then copy into description for Works Cited (at the end)

Creating your Book Trailer video using Animoto

• Go to Animoto
• Click "Sign In"
• Use your Google Apps Email Address and Password


• Click Create a Video
• Choose Animoto Original
• Click on Create Video
• Click Upload from your Computer (Upload Images from your Book Trailer folder in your Google Drive)
• Add More until All Images are Uploaded
• Add Text (Use Storyboard; insert text before and after images as desired)


• Use Book Trailer Guidelines above
• Rearrange images and text to your liking
• Click Create


• Music
• Click on Music Tab
• Click on Select from our Collection (Avoid Copyright Problems by using Animoto Music)
• Choose a Genre
• Select a Track
• Save and Continue


• Finalizing your Video
• Click on Continue (Do not change length, pacing, or screen.)
• Enter a Title (title and author of book)
• Copy and Paste your Works Cited list of web sites into Description
• Put in your name (and partner, if you have one) for Producer


• Click on Create Video
• Wait Patiently!
• Play Video (Click on Square to Maximize and Play)
• Edit and Remix if Necessary
