Stepping is a derrived form of African culture created in the mid 1900. Stepping is an incorporation of the using the body as an instrument. With hand clapping, arm/leg/chest slapping, and feet stomping. During slavery africans used this as a form of communication between each other when slave owners forbade communication. In Africa this form of dance is used for celebrations, ceremonies, and gatherings. In America stepping is widely used as a form of entertainment for most, and in African American Sororities and Phraternities still today.
