The role of the student is to actively take part in the education process. The student will use her reasoning abilities to think logically, and creatively. The student is also responsible for taking ownership in learning by expressing their wants, needs, interests and fears to the teacher. The student will work cooperatively in groups with peers of varying levels to be risk takers and explore their interest with no fear of failure. Finally, the student is responsible for taking the skills that are presented and applying them daily to succeed in life.
The teacher's role is to construct a comfortable, risk free environment, which develops in all children a feeling of security and positive self worth. Creating a community of learners, where the teacher is not a dispenser, but a facilitator of knowledge, allowing children to explore in their own direction according to her guidelines.
The goal of the teacher is to design a curriculum that sparks a curiosity and eagerness for learning in students. By encouraging creative self-expression and developing a positive attitude towardslearning, the teacher will maintain a classroom where every child will have the energy and potential to make a difference in the world.
