The Merriam-Webster dictionary defines knowledge as the fact or condition of knowing something with familiarity gained through experience or association. Ikujiro Nonaka in his book The Knowledge Creating Company recognizes two types of knowledge,
tacit and explicit. As students and educators we need to recognize the difference in these two types of knowledge and learn how to use and teach to these two types. Explicit knowledge is something formal and systemic according to Nonaka
which we are familiar with, its in a textbook we learn from the textbook. Tacit knowledge is something not easily visible and expressible, knowledge that is difficult to communicate.
This course provides information about these types of knowledge and how to manage these types.
