While no specific summer reading is required for the AP English course, please be aware that one of the essays on the AP English Literature & Composition exam will give you a list of novels and ask you to use one as support. (You may substitute one that is not listed provided it is of equal literary merit.) The list found at http://homepage.mac.com/mseffie/AP/APtitles.html contains all novels used as part of this essay question since 1971. You should not attempt to read all novels, but consider reading a couple so that you may expand your familiarity with these titles.
