Electrical Automation Technology

Program Description - Ranken’s Electrical Automation Technology program produces skilled electrical maintenance technicians. Through lecture and shop/lab activities, you’ll spend your first year receiving instruction and training in electrical theory, solid-state electronics and logic control, installing electrical systems, power distribution and the National Electric Code (NEC). In your second year, you’ll get hands-on experience with single-phase and three-phase motors, variable frequency drives, motion control, ladder diagrams, advanced control logic and industrial control networking. Graduates earn an Associate of Technology or Associate of Science degree and enter the workforce as maintenance electricians with some of the largest companies in St. Louis.
