Job Aides, Handouts and Assignments

Websites that I visit

Before I started using handouts and job aides, I had to learn how to create them. I did some research and found a couple of sites that were helpful.

The first page is http://bingimages.com. I was able to do a search for images by typing in the word job aide. This would give me results of pictures and examples of how others created them.

The second page that I visited was Microsoft and the templates section.

http://templates.office.com

This page was also helpful becuase I was able to search for examples of templates to use when I started creating my job aides and handouts.

Documents I use in training.

Below are reasons that I provide handouts.

  1. Apply to thier work when they are back on the job.
  2. As a job aide if they have more questions about a process or forget how to do something.
  3. In training sessions so they can follow along and take notes.

Assignments

In some of my sessions I like to prepare people for what they will experience in the session. Sometimes I will send out an email giving them and overview of the session and what we will cover. I also will give prework assignments for people to complete before they attend the session. Some examples of the assignments that I give out are below.

  1. Read a Book
  2. Visit a Website
  3. Group Assignments
  4. Pretest
  5. Survey
