Read the chapter on slavery and be ready to discuss what African Americans had to go through during this time. Some examples: Did they have rights? How did they get sold into slavery? Did they get to stay with family? ect.

Lesson 4: 13th Amendment

Be ready to discuss the details of what led up to the 13th Amendment. What was so important about the 13th Amendment? Was the amendment favorable in all states? Who was the main advocate of the 13th Amendment? What was some of the aftermath of the Amendment?
