Manual Motor Controls

Unit Description - This is the first unit within the course. Each student will learn motor theory, the National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) symbols that pertain to motor control electrical schematics. The student shall learn to draw by hand a manual motor control circuit. Industry standard wiring practices shall be employed. Students will construct each design on a training panel to each their design fits the real world problem they are trying to solve. Under instructor supervision, the student shall test their circuit with a motor or valve. Motors utilized are either Marathon single phase motors or Baldor three-phase motors.Motor controls are all completed utilizing a safe 24VDC control voltage. The final control elements my be either single phase 120VAC or three-phase 208VAC.
